Townsend Real Estate Makes Home Buying an Immersive Experience
Townsend Real Estate has no qualms with standing apart from other firms in the
industry. Their office in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, doubles as a fine art gallery with rotating shows and their
hosting schedule includes events like wine tastings and ladies’ nights.
Owner and broker Kathryn Townsend’s unique approach to real estate doesn’t end with community
involvement and art shows. She has been developing a new strategy to implement with each of her listings
in 2015; the goal is to showcase each of her clients’ homes through short films. The intent is to use
professional photography and cinematography to show potential buyers not only the home that’s listed for
sale, but the community and lifestyle that goes along with it.
According to Townsend, early tests of the concept have gone over very well with her clientelle. “My clients
love the videos because they know this strategy is not just about making the company stand out…it’s always
been about how we can make their homes stand out,” said Townsend. While many agents are focused
around marketing themselves personally, Townsend’s team spends most of their efforts focusing on how to
make their clients homes stand out.
Townsend’s background in marketing and psychology shows through in how she steers the company’s
marketing initiatives. A strong focus on social networks, creative collaboration, and immersive presentation
belies both an above-average level of active marketing and a panoply of outside-the-box thinking. Said
Townsend of her marketing leadership: “I’m very involved with technology and I’m always striving to come
up with creative ideas that will make us stand out.”
